The Warthog

One cannot see a Warthog in the Serengeti without the song “Hakuna Matata” immediately entering one’s head. Actually a little shy, we were able to get some wonderful close views of a warthog family, babies in tow in the southern Serengeti.

A sturdy creature on the savannah, they can actually survive for months without water. Odd how they graze on their knees.

    • Oh I bet you got to enjoy Tanzania before it became too overrun with tourists. But the camps were certain stellar. I’m finally back to adding Africa pics. I think I needed a mental break after going through the 7,000 images I took. 🙂

      • Wow, that is alot of photos. I wasn’t really into photography then and only took about 120 photos from a basic film camera. I think that’s where it started. I have to say it didn’t seem too touristy then. But there are lots a large spaces. Unfortunately my negatives haven’t kept well. I look forward to seeing the rest of your photos.
