Snowzilla 2016

More snow than I could have ever imagined fell just two days ago. After the storm passed, we’ve been busy moving snow so that life can get back to normal.

The Garden Bird Photography Studio worked far better than I imagined and the variations I can create are endless. But it was time to visit the horses and see how they were doing.

So enjoy the video above and enjoy some of the beautiful scenes I enjoyed a day after the storm.

Best of all was the fox in the morning running on the frozen river looking for breakfast.

โ€œIt snowed all week. Wheels and footsteps moved soundlessly on the street, as if the business of living continued secretly behind a pale but impenetrable curtain. In the falling quiet there was no sky or earth, only snow lifting in the wind, frosting the window glass, chilling the rooms, deadening and hushing the city. At all hours it was necessary to keep a lamp lighted, and Mrs. Miller lost track of the days: Friday was no different from Saturday and on Sunday she went to the grocery: closed, of course.โ€

  1. Such an awesome storm and the destruction it brings, but it also brings such wonderful opportunities for those who truly look. Finding the most simple and exciting images in a fox on its morning mission.

    • That simple image ended up being “Explored” on Flickr. All because I only had my landscape lens on. You’re right, it’s having one’s mind, eyes and heart open to the scenes that unfold in front of us. Thank you David for your wonderful comment.

  2. How beautiful! And what better way to enjoy the countryside than on a majestic horse? I fear our cold has now turned into wind and rain, again! โ˜”โ˜”โ˜”๐ŸŽ‘๐ŸŽ‘๐ŸŽ‘
