Royal Tern

In the wintering months along the beaches of Florida, a large shore bird with a brilliant orange beak can be found. The Royal Tern enjoys the warmer beaches of Southern California as well during the winter, and travels to the Northeastern coast of the United States during the summer months.

Some smart ones live year round along the seashore of Latin America, including Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil.

A rather elegant bird, with long eyelashes and a hint of a ballerina while grooming. They are wonderful to watch as they go about their daily lives.

  1. πŸ™‚ we always seem to be blogging about the same birds! I took some photos of these guys recently and intend to write a post after the holidays. I love the last photograph!
