Spirit of the Wolf

NatlZoo11apr15-4029

Spirit of the Wolf,
You who wanders the wild lands,
You who stalks in silent shadows,
You who runs and leaps
between the moss-covered trees,
lend me your primal strength,
and the wisdom of your glowing eyes.
Teach me to relentlessly track my desires.
And to stand in defense of those I love.
Show me the hidden paths and the moonlit fields.
Fierce Spirit,
Walk with me in my solitude
Howl with me in my joy
and
Guard me as I move through this world.

  1. This is some really amazing photography! And I really love the poem you have with it. It ties really well with the emotions the photos give with you. Says something about the relationship people have with wolves!
The wolf is absolutely gorgeous too.

  2. Such beautiful animals they are. It saddens me we force them into smaller areas and cause them to seek farm animals and thus get a bad rap for it.
This one looks like you can just go up and pet it. .. You go first. .. 😉

  3. Hello, saw your post about having photo classes/tours in your area, sounds great let me know when you get something out together. live in pgh, so not a long ride for wknd or cple day program Thanks ray

    • Absolutely Ray, I’d be more than happy to share. Is there a subject you prefer to photograph? There is a Bald Eagle workshop at Conowingo Dam scheduled for November 22nd, and there are plans for two more in the fall. One in September at Ladew Gardens, and one in October for Birds of Prey.

Here is the link for the Bald Eagles workshop: http://capitalphotographycenter.com/classes/quantity/0f93b939f31b786bc108ca37317e7377e8798302/11071
      Only 6 spaces left.

The Birds of Prey will be October 11th, most likely at Huntley Meadows. Stay tuned on the class page for registration.

I’ll be working on the description for Ladew Gardens today, so it should be posted by the end of the week.

In the meantime, also feel free to join the Feathered Friends meetup group for more informal gatherings.

  4. Beautiful poem and photos! Reblogged on Wolf Is My Soul.
I hope I did not violate your copyright? If so, please let me know and I’ll use the reblog by WordPress instead. You have a new follower in me!
