Thankful for You

It is a time for expressing gratitude to family and friends that are near and dear to our hearts. Thanksgiving gives us a time to pause in our busy lives and think of the gifts and special things that make our world worth living for.

Being busy the past few weeks, I haven’t had the opportunity to share the third year birthday of my blog “Hoofbeats and Footprints.” I remember starting this fledgling blog and wondering where it would lead. Hoping it would eventually evolve into a money making endeavor became secondary to meeting special people who have entered my life through wordpress.

The giants of bloggers I’ve always admired include Leslie Carter of Bucket List Publications who has taken a small dream and made it big with over 1 million viewers. Or Mary Caperton Morton of Travels with the Blonde Coyote who travels alone through the remote areas of the U.S. with her little tear drop trailer and is a successful writer. And of course Mabry Campbell who is a phenomenal architect photographer whose work is uncomparable.

But then there is the heart and soul of our blogsphere that include so many special people. People with great heart and spirit whose nature transfers through the virtual world and touches ones soul.

Rebecca Budd, foundly known as Clanmother who always knows the right thing to say and is the most well read person I know.
Leanne Cole in Australia who is a fantastic blogger and photographer who generously shares her technical expertise with others.
Bente Haarstad in Norway that shows a world so different from mine.
Renee of Craves Adventure that somehow knows exactly how to put into words the meaning of life for ladies like us.
Mary of Oil Pastels by Mary who beautifully creates our natural world as I try to capture it and is my artistic inspiration.
Fatima Saysell who somehow became an instant kindred spirit across the Atlantic.
Sally Faith Steinmann of Hats and Horses that through our love of horse and kitties became fast and dear friends.
Ilex of Midwestern Plants who always manages to make me laugh.
Perpetua, known as The Seeker that shares her spiritual love and compassion to all that cross her path.
Andy as the Wandering Poet has always been a faithful and dear reader. Quick to comment and knows how to poetically express life’s emotions.
Jerry of Quiet Solo Pursuits who certainly is a kindred spirit for outdoor adventure and has always been a faithful follower.

There are so many more fellow bloggers that I would like to recognize, but then this would be about 50 pages long. Do know that each and everyone of you are special to me and I am so grateful that you are in my life.

So Happy Thanksgiving to you and may you have a joyous holiday – that is if you’re an American. 😉 For our international friends, celebrate with us and make this a time of gratitude.

      • Indeed! And I know that I’ll never ever be one of those bloggers who is blessed to have a huge following. I am just glad that my tiny dot somehow got connected to yours, my Friend. Your support for my work with the horses of Old Friends, our shared love for the kitties and all your kind, kind words about my photos have made me richer for knowing you! 🙂

  1. Oh, I am thankful to you too, Emily, and your interesting and beautiful blog. Enjoy Thanksgiving, family and friends. And thank you for mentioning me, that is too kind of you. 🙂

    • How could I not mention you Bente? We’ve known each other since the beginning and you have such incredible work and beautiful scenery to share. I hope to spend more time visiting other blogs next year and a little less posting. Miss seeing all those wonderful things out there I can’t enjoy in person.

    • How long have you been blogging? We’ve shared since the beginning also, along with Bente. Hard to imagine that we actually like and keep up with doing this. Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and you’re able to rest after all of that cooking.

  2. What beautiful words! I am so touched and honoured that you have included me in your list! It means more than words can say. I always look forward to reading your blog and seeing your stunning pictures: it never fails to put a smile on my face. So I thank you for the happiness you bring me.

I wish you and all your family a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. 🙂

    • Your blog always makes me wish I could take a camper and freely go where I please. And you get to enjoy such beautiful places. You are so kind with your well wishes – I’d imagine you didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving right? You’re a special lady and I’m honored to consider you my friend.

      • No, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here, but I guess American citizen would do wherever they are. My hubby is British and I’m Spanish, but I know it’s a big celebration over there and very important to you all. I do hope you had a wonderful family day.
I am very happy to count you among my friends too. Long may it continue. 🙂

My dear friend, I am so very, very glad that we connected over the blogger miles. Thank you for creating a place that welcomes us all to join in the conversation. You have given me a way of looking at photography. Many hugs coming your way. Happy Thanksgiving.
