Walk with me on the boardwalk, through the autumn woods towards Great Falls, Maryland. Where the power of the water thunders in the distance and the mist rises from the falls.
Along the way, trickles are first seen.
Which quickly become larger streams.
Great Falls is within the Potomac River Gorge and the power of the falls is a force to be reckoned with.
Viewing from the Maryland side isn’t quite as dramatic as it is from the Virginia side. However seeing the water flowing rapidly over the rough rocks one is awed by its strength.
To know that something so beautiful can have the impeding force to cut through something as formidable as stone is truly impressive.
To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don’t grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float.
