This past week has been to try something new. Having several friends at the barn that have wanted portrait images of them with their horses, the opportunity arose to develop a new skill.
Being a horseback rider myself, it helps me as a photographer in knowing when to capture the moment. Even the angle and position of where the photographer stands can make a difference in how successful an equine portrait can be. One thing I really enjoyed was watching and capturing the loving relationship between horse and rider.
It’s been really fun and I appreciated the chance to practice a new art. Perhaps this is a new door that has opened for me for next year.
Here’s good advice for practice: go into partnership with nature; she does more than half the work and asks none of the fee.
