Project 365/266 – Yard Birds

Can’t tell you how much I hate being stopped in my tracks with a thrown back. This week was supposed to be a birding bonanza, but instead I’ve had to settle for staying at home. Sitting in a chair for brief periods, and a window cracked open I was able to capture these lovelies at the feeders.

A couple of surprise visitors though including a Common Yellowthroat Warbler and a Brown Thrasher was enough to satisfy my need for the cool birds. It was an overcast day and my ISO number was cranked way up, Either way, at least I could do some birding.

You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometimes well you might find – you’ll get what you need. Β Rolling Stones

  1. SO sorry to hear about your back. Such lovelies that found you, right where you are though… Partial to wrens and thrashers. My Maggie loved the Dee Dees. Love the one with the bushy tail… and the Stones quote! πŸ™‚

  2. I especially like the first shot of the Downy Woodpecker, but they all are pretty special–there is a real crispness to your shots (and you obviously have a wilder backyard than that of my suburban townhouse). I hope that you are up and about soon. The bird population seems to be growing, or at least they are more visible as the leaves begin to fall from the trees.

  3. How awesome to be able to see all those wonderful birds from your window, even with a bad back! I am curious, what you call Brown Thrasher, is it also called Sterling? They look almost the same to me.
