Project 365/120 – 100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall

Whatever happened to the days where we only had a few beers to choose from. Budweiser, Schlitz Malt Liquor, Michelob, St. Pauli Girl, and Heineken? Have you been to your beer store lately? Seems American micro-breweries have taken over the world. I’ve never seen so many gourmet, custom, hand brewed beers in my life.

How on earth can I choose one when there are so many options. Way too many choices for this country mouse. Perhaps we should take one down, pass it around, to get 99 bottles of beer on the wall.

  1. Oh my, LOL! Great post – there is nothing like a really cold (freezer cold) beer on a hot summer TX day when we finish our yard work and gardening, it truly hits the spot. Now if I could only choose which one?!

  2. Back when I came of age, there were many choices in beers available. But over the next few decades, the big breweries bought out all the smaller ones, and with less competition, quality suffered. The boom in micro-breweries is a reaction to that, so we have come full circle.

  3. My husband sure would like to go there! When he was younger he collected beers and still has over 200 unopened beers from all over the world – displaying on the wall in his old room at home. Although now he enjoys trying new sorts of beer, as I can see there sure are many to chose from.

    • That is amazing that he has all of those unopened beers. I bet some of them are collectible now. I think a lot of these are American beers which is mind-boggling. Thanks for your visit and comment. Hope to see you back soon.

  4. Hailing from St. Louis, MO — a real beer city — we had a lot of labels back in the day, not to mention beer buckets filled to the brim (foam overflowing), taken home from the local taverns for the neighbors to enjoy on the stoop while they chatted up Cardinals baseball. Nice post. Now I’m really thirsty for a Griesedieck long-neck (look that one up). I think I’ll just take one down off your virtual brewskie wall and pass it around…99 bottles of beer on the wall…
